The Lear Car2U System is compatible with the majority of private gate entry systems. To program your gate you must first determine if you have a fixed or rolling code gate. To learn which kind of gate you have use the transmitter lookup feature located on the left side of this web page.
For community and other entry gates use the Need Help? Feature located at the top of the screen to be contacted by a representative for further programming information.

Programming a Rolling Code Entry Gate Opener

Firmly press the two outer Car2U System buttons for 1-2 seconds, then release. |

Go to the entry gate to locate the control panel for the entry gate opener motor. You may have to remove the cover of the electrical enclosure box to gain access to the learn button located on the electronic board. Now press its "learn" button. You will have 10-30 seconds to return to your vehicle and complete the following steps. |

Press and hold the Car2U System button you would like to use to control the entry gate. Immediately release the button once the entry gate begins to move. When the button is released, the indicator light will begin to blink rapidly until programming is complete. |

Press and release the button again. The entry gate should move, confirming that programming is successful. If your entry gate does not operate, repeat the previous steps or download the complete "Programming Instructions" PDF above. |
Programming a Fixed Code Entry Gate Opener

Open the battery cover and record the DIP switch settings from left to right for all 8 to 12 switches. (Use the figure below.) When a switch is in the Up, +, or on position circle “left.” |

To input these positions, simultaneously press all three Car2U System buttons for a few seconds and then release to put the device into programming mode. The indicator lights will blink slowly. Enter your corresponding DIP switch settings from left to right in order into your Car2U System by pressing and releasing the buttons corresponding to the settings you circled. |

After inputting switch settings, simultaneously press all three Car2U System buttons and release. The indicator lights will turn on. Press and hold the Car2U System button you would like to use to control the entry gate. You may have to depress and hold the button for 30 seconds. Once the entry gate begins to move, release the button. |

The indicator light will blink rapidly until programming is complete. If your entry gate does not operate following these steps, repeat process or download the complete "Programming Instructions" PDF above. |
